Changing Frames

I love exhibiting vintage photographs in my home. I pulled out these old camp ones for a seasonal change and it was obvious the frames needed perking-up. Random salvaged wood implements and hardware added the fun look I wanted.
I saved more formal-looking black frames for other vintage family photos (which are clustered together on ledges) yet added zip with white dots and thin pen lines on mats.
Twigs knotted at the corners were tried for awhile.
Salvaged possibilites for slicing into frame pieces. Never under-estimate the usefulness of shutter slats, sled rails, chair parts, croquet mallets, picket fences ...
Painted wood star was cut from a salvaged toy mailbox.
My dad's sterling belt buckle seemed appropriate to add since he and my bros are in this camp photo.
Husband's old camp photo seemed like perfect place for his wooded Boy Scout neckerchief clasp. Top red-painted piece came from a sled.
