I have a small section of carpet on the edge of a stair that has been worn down and would like advice on how to replace that little section, approximately 2x2inches square. I have a matching piece of carpet for the replacement. Thanks in advance for your help.

Get some Carpet Tape(about 2 inches wide) at your local Ace, HD or Lowes. Place the replacement piece of carpet over the area that it will be replacing (larger that what is being replaced) and using a very sharp, new razor blade....cut through both the new and old carpet so that you will have an exact replacement piece. Remove the backing on the tape and fit it under the existing carpet so that 50% of the adhesive is exposed and press the replacement piece into place. That should hold it in place and your repair is done. Please be careful and do not cut your finger,,,,,,,Gary
