If you love the look of hardwood floors, but can't stand the high cost, consider vinyl plank flooring. We just installed it in one of our bedrooms, and will soon install it in two more plus our master bath. We took no classes, just followed the instructions, and absolutely love it! With the cost about 75% less than hardwood, and about 50% less than laminate, well, that makes us happy, too.
I've created my own tutorial. If you'd like to see what's involved in the installation of this product, you're invited to check it out: http://www.wecallitjunkin.com/diy-install-vinyl-plank-flooring/
It's not hardwood! It's vinyl plank flooring!

We were told we could use this type of vinyl plank flooring in our three season sunroom ...we have had it down three weeks and the floor looks like a river..it does NOT seem to like the sun on it.....and we were told by a salesman in Lowes that it would be serviceable...we installed it exactly by the instructions , leavng a good space all around the sides and not attaching any baseboards tight to the floor. We left a toothpick space between the floor and baseboards so it could float. It didn't work out good at all for us, any suggestions?

I was very much impressed to see this great article. I likedyour tips that you have shared on vinyl plank flooring. It is becoming apopular option for residential spaces. Using vinyl plank is a creative wayto enjoy the look of softer woods like pine or maple without concern overdenting. It is also an innovative way to add decorative finishes, like whitewashed or weathered wood planks, to your home. It is acost-efficient practical choice for rental properties and the more active roomsin your home. Really, you have done an incredible job.

I am a huge fan of my vinyl plank floors. I've had hardwoods before and the ease of care, durability and sound with the vinyl planks is far superior. And everyone loves it. I went with Karndean Hickory Peppercorn. Only drawback is this particular one is not recommended as a DIY.
