Hi Carolyn, I mosaic, and usually use Liquid Nails, white if I grout and clear if I don't. If you are trying to attach the plate to a stick or pole, you will need to drill a hole. It all depends on your base. It's a fun project. Good luck.

Hi! I have designed some clear glass garden/bird feeders, pics included, and i use clear silicone sealant. It works very well and really holds up outdoors. For more delicate areas I use E-6000. You have to use a caulking gun for the sealant. Good luck. ( some of my bird feeders)

I have a blogger buddy, Tuula, who makes all sort of wonderful items to place outdoors and in her garden. She swears by Marine Goop and has never had a problem with any of her items coming apart. You can read about one of her projects here http://www.thriftyrebel.com/2013/07/diy-silver-goblet-wind-chimes.html or better yet email her with any questions on what type of glue to use. I consider her an expert in this area.
