DIY Rustic Pumpkin Stand

Last week I saw this adorable Rustic Pumpkin Stand project in my news feed on Facebook. Home Depot was hosting a monthly “Do-It-Herself” demonstration and it was on a night I was free, so I decided to go. I have never been to one of those DIH nights so I didn’t know what to expect. There wasn’t much information online so I just registered and showed up at my local Home Depot. When I got there, the lumber aisle was packed with 50 women standing around plywood tables and ready to work!
We were given four fence posts to cut into a "pumpkiny" shape and 1x2's to brace them together.
More fence posts were cut to create the box for the front of the pumpkin.
Once it's put together, you have a rustic pumpkin, complete with stem and box.
Paint makes all the difference! I used black chalkboard paint for the front so I could write messages on it.
I filled the box with pretty fall decor and used it on my mantel until Halloween. Then I filled it up with candy and left it out on the front porch for the trick-or-treaters coming by while we were gone! :)
