Gluing scrapbook paper to a box

I want give this to my 5 yr old granddaughter...but the pattern is rather old for a little girl. I thought of covering it with fabric or scrap book paper...but not sure what's the best way to adhere it to the box and what to coat it with.
I will not be able to continue the covering underneath the inside of the lid, due to it already being a fairly snug fit. Need this done by this Friday!

If you are using paper a simple white craft glue would work ,if you are using fabric you must use a fabric glue.

Use Mod Podge to glue the fabric or paper on the box and seal it with Mod Podge. Many Hometalkers use Mod Podge for gluing and sealing. Get it at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

That will depend on what you decide to use fabric or paper.

Mod Podge can be used to both adhere and seal paper or fabric. It comes in many different finishes....gloss, semigloss, matte and etc.
