Tips to Paint Your Pet's Portrait

If you guys like to paint, I have a fun idea to help you paint your pet's portrait! Basically, this helps you get a general outline of your dog and his features and then you can color in the areas like paint by number. You could paint on rough fence board like I did or even canvas.
First you need to edit your photo so that it is bright and has lots of contrast. Put in photoshop and make a layer on top. On this top layer, use the pencil or paintbrush tool and trace around the main features. Print onto paper and chalk or pencil transfer onto your board. Paint background entirely around pet.
You can use the scraping technique to pull paint into the areas with a dragging motion and a small piece of folded cardstock paper. Then use a brush for the finer details around the face.

Hope you try it!
