I've had this happen. it depends on if they were actually touched by flame or just smoke. if smoke. first clean wash w dawn uptral dish soap. they have a new one out I believe its called dawn platinum that may work even better. spray with a product called nok out which will take the smell away (you can find that on line, not in stores,i've found its the best out there) then paint w good primer and then the final coat. if it is damage caused by flame, then it would depend on how bad it was. same process, but you'd have to start w cleaning, sanding and seeing what you have left before deciding what to do. sometimes it can be repaired, but it also depends on what the cabinets are made of in how you proceed to repair.

Mr. Clean sponges, unless paint is damaged, then (sob) refinish.

Depends what the finish is on the cabinets. painted finishes...clean off as much as you can with TSP, then paint first with sealer product such as K iL Z, then repaint

Is it the hood (that's pictured) that burned or the actual wood on the cabinet shown on the left side of the photo that hangs down? Maybe a light sanding with fine steel wool will remove the discoloration. Once you have the area as good as you can get it, stain as close to original color as you can and apply poly once dry.

I agree with the other suggestions. Clean it up with Mr Clean sponge. Apply Kilz to stop the stains from bleeding through. Then apply 1 or 2 coats of paint. Get the appliance paint that will match you range. Might be a good time to treat cabinets with Kilz and give all of them a fresh coat of paint. Then you won't have one showing up different.

I would NOT advise you to use magic erasers UNLESS you intend to paint. I ruined the finish on one of my kitchen cabinets that way. They clean TOO well!

Janitorial supply stores have several products for smoke damaged home items, based on the type of material its made from. (wood, metal, stone, marble etc....) If the damage is more extensive than what the photo shows, contact your home insurance company and leave the restoration to the pros.
