Thrift Store Painting Upcycle

A DIY inspirational painting for your home, and you don't have to be a painter! The only paint you need to handle is spray paint.
My family loves to travel so I chose 'Oh Darling Lets Be Adventurers' for the saying I wanted on my painting.
Knowing that I wanted a travel themed saying I went to the thrift store looking for a landscape piece. I hit the jackpot when I found this one for just a couple dollars.
I decided where I wanted my lettering to be and put down my stickers.
Spray paint!
Then I could pull up all my stickers and reveal my finished lettering.

Is this an original painting? The artist retains the copyright unless he/she relinquishes it or gives you permission to alter the work. Check with a lawyer just to be sure. The same is true of a copyrighted print. If the print has no copyright symbol, it's probably safe. There are plenty of court cases where artists and publishers have sued copyright infringers.

I like the white stripe. I think it mutes the painting and lets the quote shine. Do you remove the letters while the paint is still wet or after it dries?
