How-to Create Chic Black and White Striped Planters

I love a great "kate spade" inspired look and these black and white striped planters are perfect! By using old planters and some craft paint, I was able to totally transform these planters into something fabulous!

The black and white stripes are a classic, chic look!
These little red planters once held some ugly christmas flowers. They needed a facelift!
The first step was to paint the entire planter black. Painter's tape was used to create the white stripes.
The planters are small but make a big impact!
I love that the flank the mantel. The red, black and white of the planters fit right in with the existing mantel decor.
The red Hydrangea adds the perfect pop of color.

    Yes indeed, very chic is right. I thought you'd transformed those bed risers into planters by turning them upside down and then painting them. Which gives me an idea for the extra bed rises I have taking up space!
