When i moved to my house, the deck was open at the bottom and wanted to put up the "slats" to prevent my dogs from jumping off or if the grand kids are here, them falling off. So i took measurements and got the wood cut and put the "slats" up myself with my new drill. I was quite happy with my own project. It has worked well too.
