Lamps Plus Ovo Lamp Gets a Coastal Look for Christmas

I knew Lamps Plus Ovo table lamp was going to be perfect for showcasing my fishing glass floats and driftwood pieces. So I was happy to participate in this great Holiday design challenge by Lamps Plus and Hometalk! To add the spirit of Christmas to the driftwood I painted stripes in the traditional Christmas colors of red and green, plus white to tie in with the lampshade. Although I love driftwood au naturel, I've always adored the painted pieces that I have seen. So this was an obvious choice! I also tossed in a few fillable clear ornaments with snow white shell shards in them. The shade design was inspired by French memo boards. I created a stripe pattern with thin rope that would allow me to show off some precious pieces of seaglass, as well as a Christmas card I created. A backlit memo board! I finished off my coastal design with a small driftwood finial. I'm enjoying the lamp a lot right now, but without the card -it'll be tucked back under in December!
Hometalk and Lamps Plus Holiday design challenge 2013. Ovo glass table lamp filled and dressed up for a coastal Christmas Holiday.
Painted driftwood sticks in traditional Christmas colors. And fishing glass floats make great ornaments!
Clear ornament filled with snow white shell shards. Ornaments open right in the middle.
Driftwood lamp finial. I cut off the top of the finial that came with the lamp and mounted this little sculptural piece, finished off with a rope wrap.
French memo board inspired lampshade design. A simple rope wrap that allows to tuck things under. The seaglass pieces look beautiful when backlit. Come Christmas, I tuck the card back under!
