Anyone have any ideas for doing a fall Wine barrel cornucopia,

I have an old 1/2 wine barrel and wanted to do something different, wanted to know what fall plants I may be able to use with mums that will give me some great color and curb apeal

You may wish to consider millet, cabbage and grasses for plants. You could also place gourds, pumpkins, corn stalks, ears of Indian corn, crows or scarecrows amongst your plantings as well.

What about contrasting yellow mums with some purple salvia...I love bold color combinations.

As a color consultant, I love the yellow, purple comment of the Style Sisters, but also add the orange trumpet plant I got at Lowe's

Thanks for all the great advice, I was getting discouraged thinking my only options were mums, I went to the apple festival this weekend and ended up with a couple of cute apple shaped gourds that are painted red. I'll post a picture when I get it ready, maybe next weekend
