I usually dislike the distressed look (I always feel it needs to be sanded down and painted) but this look works on the bench.

Im doing the same thing here In WV (Rustic Junkie Creative Recycling). While I dont have welding equipment yet, its coming. Ive been making all kinds of things such as benches, pendant, table, and floor lamps (out of Ohio River driftwood and other cast off items), birdhouses, and turning doors into tables, headboards and cabinets/shelves. Im working on building up inventory for next spring and a doing arts, crafts and garden shows here as well as putting things into a recycled 'art' gallery in a nearby town. I also make utility aprons (my winter project) which are tough as nails. Here, the wonderful amount of old barnwood is just amazing and the projects and ideas just keep coming... Best of Luck with your incredible works and I hope to see you in the spring when I return. Thanks!
