I have this on a steep slope. It looks nice (at least it's green!) but I've been pulling it up about 3 feet from my patio. I also have a fern "grotto" with lovely weeds below. I'm going to replant some ferns as a border to the patio. Not sure about the rest of the ivy. The slope would be impossible to mow. I also have creeping vinca in there, too, that got way out of hand. Anyone have a plan for me?

I'd get rid of the ivy. You have a nice level slate to work with. Ivy really takes over and it's hard to pull up and can adhere to anything (went up my brick house, also)
