I'm always finding something different in the backyard. This is one of three ponds we have and my favorite. The other two we call our working ponds. When I want to relax and unwind this is where I go. I didn't show you the fish in this array but will at a later date. They are a source of beauty as well not to mention characters in their own right.
Our wet land filter...the source of two streams that cascade down a slope into our pond 16'x26'
One of the streams fed by the wetland filter. With falls and rapids this stream adds a sound that will put yo right to sleep
I love the contrast of colors this time of year, early fall. This is where the stream drops into the pond.
Again the contrast of color and texture add to the beauty at this time of year.
This is Forget-me-Not and during the summer months has a little blue flower that contrast nicely with the yellow Creeping Jenny. It is thinned out periodically through the summer to provide a resource for ponds we build
This little volunteer Japanese Maple is now about 3.5 ft tall and is holding it's color very well. Will most likely relocate it this fall or early spring. It's too close to one of our ponds.
The capture of the dew on this Parrots feather the contrast with the leaf and the stump make this one of my favorite photos
I always enjoy the colors of a new spring. The Redbud and Dogwood in bloom are my favorite combination of color. I am looking forward to next spring with more Redbud in the garden to go along with the native Dogwood.
