    Paint as you would any dark colored wall...... prime first, then paint with a roller, preferably a foam roller as that will not leave any marks.

    Clean the paneling with TSP you can find it at Lowes or any building center. This step is important it takes grease and oil off the walls. Let dry for at least 24 hours. You can use a water base Kiltz or Oil Base. I would suggest since its inside using water base. Use a roller, if you use a fluffier roller it will also go down in the grooves like the ones for a ceiling. Let dry. Use any paint color you desire and paint it. I always let the Kiltz dry for 24 hours in between. Hope that helps.
