Chalk painting ugly folding TV tables ?

I would like to chalk paint this table with a worn look.

    Using chalk paint is easy - no sanding or priming required! I would spray paint the legs though - would be easier.

    I've painted a number of TV tables with chalk paint. I bet yours will turn out really cute! First choose a color, apply the chalk paint (most likely 2 coats). You can sand it before applying the soft wax or after. I prefer to sand before the wax. Best of luck!

    Even with chalk paint sand first and seal with a water base sealer. I also paint and if u want it look right and the paint not to flake off prepare it right I can't tell you how many pieces of furniture people have bought and the paint flaked off because it wasn't prepared right. Because food will be sitting in this seal it.

      Just a light sanding? I want to do a roll top desk (replica), it has some kind of shiny finish does it need to be sanded until gone or just roughed up?

    some desks have different finishes, some aren't wood but veneer which one is yours?
