Add a small pond made from PVC would be a good start.

i would stay clear of the pre formed ponds. you will end up hating it. they give the water gardening world a bad rap. check out aquascapeinc.com they have alot of design ideas and they are the world leaders in manufacturing water feature materials. I only use aquascaspe. they have alot of DIY kits you would be interested in! i highly encourage you to take the leap and get your feet wet. once you experience the lifestyle you'll never go back! hence why i build them for a living now. I cant get enough!

The best place for a water feature in your yard is where you will see it most everyday. Aquascapes has the simplest most effective system on the market. The 45mil epdm liner is tough and can be shaped any way you like. The skimmer/biofalls provide excellent filteration, and all you need to do is empty the skimmer basket...
