How to Make a Pumpkin Sign Out of an Old Shutter

Going about town visiting garage sales and estate sales, I've collected quite a few shutters, big ones, small ones, etc. My husband and son keep wanting to throw them out but I won't let them.
This Fall I've come up with some projects using shutters so they will be happy now, I hope, and let me keep my stash of shutters. Did I mention I have a bunch of doors, too? :)
I painted the shutter and then shabbied it up a bit. I glued the letters on with Fabri Tac. I love that glue.
I bought some wooden letters that were the right size for the shutter to spell out the word PUMPKIN. Then I covered the letters with scrapbook paper in pretty orange colors and prints.
I traced around the letter while sitting on the paper. Very easy to do. Then I used Mod Podge to make the letter stick. I then put on 2 coats of Mod Podge to preserve the whole thing.
