Pretty Paper, Paint, and a Pattern

This project is so easy - you don't have to be an artist to master it! Besides being cheap, the coolest thing is: it looks so creative!
Anything can be torn up and repurposed into something beautiful! Although this project is a bit less destructive than most of my upcycled projects, it is made through a fun activity that takes very little skill or expense.
Thick wood makes the piece look more high end
I started with a nice piece of wood that had finished edges.
I tore up random pieces of patterned paper and placed them on the wood until a portion of it was covered. (I do this step just to determine how much paper I need to tear up.)
I removed the paper pieces and painted the wood white. (Painting the sides of the wood is an important step.) After the paint dried, I sprayed the wood piece with one quick coat of 3M Super 77 Multipurpose Adhesive.
I replaced the scraps of paper on the wood. In the places that overlapped, I used Elmer's Craft Bond Rubber Cement to secure the corners.
I placed a stencil over the mosaic of paper scraps. (Note that my stencil above has been used several times, thus the paint on the stencil.)
I randomly sectioned off the stencil into 4 different colors.
The finished textured masterpiece shows off the stenciled pattern and many background colors from the paper scraps.
These three pictures were made in the same manner with different stencils.

I love this. Thank you. How did you create the paint design on the right side of the three? It almost has the appearance of being "finger blobs" - like finger painting. It is my favorite!
