DIY Antique Wood Countertops

Anita D
by Anita D
We made wood countertops from antique wormy chestnut wood out of a family house on our property. The wood was planed, joined with biscuits and wood glue after squaring the edges to fit with a router, then stained and finished with a floor polyurethane for durability and especially for preservation of this rare wood.

I think I just found a use for all the cherry block paneling in my kitchen. Was going to just cover with beadboard but this would take care of the whole where to get a budget for decent counters. Thanks for sharing.
