What to do with old TV in wooden box.

Question

We have this old TV, seen below. I think hubby could take the TV part out and leave the box for use somehow. I don't know what to use it for, though. Maybe put shelves in and store linens or something like that? I'm looking for ideas, things I've not thought of. Sorry about the angle of the photo. It's in my laundry room and not much room to move around to get a better shot. Still, any ideas or thoughts?? :)

If the size is right; DIY buffet. Add shelves and doors if possible and use in dining area.

If it is old enough it should have MILES of thin copper wiring that is useful for all sorts of things, but be careful gutting it, as I believe it can be kind of dangerous!!
