There is a food grade hydrogen peroxide (35% concentration) that is used by the food industry and dairy industry. Its used in processing cheese, fruits, vegetables, and other foods to increase shelf life. It's given to cows and pigs to reduce bacteria contamination in the feed. The hydrogen peroxide (3% concentration) that you buy at the store has other chemicals in it that are harmful and are known to cause neurological problems if ingested. It's also known to destroy new cells when put on healing wounds. It does have more oxygen molecules that water, but the other chemicals in it render it harmful and neutral. I use it to to wash my whites. It's better and safer than bleach, but I wouldn't drink it.

very diluted the peroxide will not hurt your dog. Peroxide is great for using on a dog for little sores, hot spots etc as well. Regarding using it in the garden, absolutely. It is good for killing aphids, spider mites, cut worms and a lot of other little buggies. Additionally it is good for oxygenating the soil. If you over water the ground is oxygen deprived and your plants will suffer.

Never feed your dogs anything you wouldn't drink yourself. Plants, I'm not sure, but life-threatening to plants isn't as big a deal as life-threatening to mammals. Just sayin'.

Not much reason to use any chemical in the yard unless there's a proven reason for it, such as supplementing a missing nutrient in the soil that's been determined through a soil test. As to internal use for animals, I can't imagine why; I've read that it "supplements the oxygen in water," but plain old water has plenty of oxygen. It's great for external use on minor injuries, but no way would I give it to my animals, nor would I drink it myself in any level of dilution.

I know peroxide is recommended for use in watering orchids...mainly to guard against mold. Also, when forcing bulbs, the water can get stale in those containers so a small amount of peroxide is usually added to the water. I would never, ever give it to my dog and I don't think it would benefit my yard unless I had potted plants that had too much rain flood them and I wanted to guard against mold or to put more oxygen into the soil.

Peroxide is given to dogs to induce vomiting when they've eaten something they shouldn't have, such as insulation, grocery bags or socks... (ask me how I know)
