What is this flower

I have a cutting of this plant and would love to know what it is ..I know it is a perennial and it grows nice sized leaves and is in full bloom right now Help my fellow hometalk peeps :)

  • Linda, that is a Japanese anemone. It grows in part shade or sun blooming in late summer and fall. There is both white and pink varieties as well as single or double flowered varieties. Fairly tall, likes good soil and adequate water. Perennial:)

    I think it may be a windflower... Spreads nicely... Likes partial shade... Flowers for over a month... Deer resistant. I have a batch in my garden & love them....

    Allow room for it to "expand" as it is gorgeous en mass. Mine look gorgeous right now.

    Japanese anenome is a nice late summer fall addition. Invasive but controllable. The plant itself is not very high. It would go well in amidst your other perennials so that as it rears its blooming stalks in late summer you get a nice little surprise. I bought mine in a plant nursery.

    I knew it was a Japanese anemone, but didn't know they spread. Mine never have here in northeast PA. A lovely fall flower.
