I have two porcelain bathroom sinks that are in terrible shape.

Both sinks have a mild drip...drip...drip. Hard water deposits have built up and so far, I have not been able to clean them. Short of "throwing them away", are there any products or ideas of getting the rough hard corrosive buildup off and make the sinks look new again?

I successfully used a method found on this blog, it uses citric acid easily found in the baking section of the supermarket. The article is about cleaning toilets, but also explains how to clean baths and sinks http://simpleliving-sherrie.blogspot.com.au/

Have you tried CLR or Maybe a little of the "Works" toilet cleaner. I used Works on a toilet that was badly rust stained from well water. It was like a miracle.

looks like the link didnt show up! I'll try to find it again later, or you could Google citric acid for cleaning sinks and baths. It really does have spectacular results

The link still won't show! Anyway, basic formula is 50g of citric acid powder to 100 M&S of water. Spray and leave a while. Bad stains, wet the area and dab on powder, leave to soak . Citric acid is used in jam making, to make drinks etc. you will find it in the supermarket.

I like Therese have used "the Works" on hard water stains and it does work great. We are on well water and it is very hard so I keep a bottle of this in both bathrooms. Good luck with your sinks.
