I got this fabulous 40 dollar pail for only 7 bucks! Yes that's an apple next to it to show how big the pail is! I'm thinking of aging it! Any other suggestions? All you on here always have such great ideas!

Funny story but I had one I was using as a utensil storage by the stove for a few years and yesterday I just got around to painting it. My friend gave me a faux patina kit made by plaid ( I think it's discontinued as I couldn't find it anywhere) but everything was sealed up and the paint was fine so I faux patina'd ( made up word lol) a metal tin bucket! Oh the irony but it turned out really nice even though I had second thoughts lol. You don't even need a kit to patina, I searched faux patina on Pinterest and it gave me so many options with craft paint I had on hand. I'll take a pic as its still curing after the 10th coat of dishwasher safe mod podge I used to seal it to make it water proof, clean easily and food safe for my utensils. My other idea I had was to chalk paint it a creamy base color, then a teal over that, distress and then stencil on one of my vintage French bakery or cafe themed patterns in black since I'm using mine for the kitchen. But I went with aging mine as well as I thought it was fitting for a metal pail! What are you using yours for?

Oh I also pondered doing a paper mosaic on it as well! I just got the Ranger Tim holtz paper mosaic kit and been wanting to try it out but I thought I'd save that for the ugly, 80's Tupperware brown, you know the color I'm talking about lol, lazy Susan that's plastic but functional but needs help ASAP so after two years I think it's time and I didn't want to cause patina overload so I'm going to mod podge or tile mosaic it I think lol... Still thinking on it

Ya know it was such a great deal and I love jars, baskets and metal Pails of all sorts I haven't thought about what I'm gonna use it for lol! The hubs and I are buying a new house hopefully with a nice big back yard so we are going to build a nice stone fire pit might be good to use the Pail for logs! I'm thinking I will age it with Zeps acod toilette cleaner! I did that with a big round bucket looks so cool! I'm also thinking of painting it too look like an enamel bucket! Ugh I just don't know! Thanks for ur comments! I hope u post pics of what I end up doing

you can use it for patio lighting -use floral foam at the bottom of the bucket--purchase 5-6 outside lights you can get them for$ 2-3-the ones that line walk ways and no electricity-put them in the floral foam randomly and then hang the bucket from a hook-makes great lighting for sitting on the patio at nite
