Fieldtrip ~ Longwood Gardens in Early September

Early September and a house guest who has never experienced Longwood Gardens – a perfect prescription for a field trip. Only twenty minutes from our home, Longwood Gardens is a favorite destination of mine to share with visitors. So off we went after lunch to see part of the gardens. These pictures are from the Flower Garden Walk, Italian Water Gardens, and the Conservatory. We were lucky enough to be able to go in person, but you can take a virtual tour of Longwood Gardens at http://longwoodgardens.org/gardens/view-all-gardens too!

  • I grew up fairly near, in Villanova, but only went to Longwood once. Of course, my Mother was an avid gardener, which made me want to run the other way!! How we change. Now I would love to go there again and again, but from N.C. it's quite a trip. Maybe next spring I should come up. Why don't we get a group together and plan a date? Maybe Douglas Hunt would even come up from Florida??? Well, let's think about it!
