Clogged bathtub drains stink -- sometimes literally. This is a fix we can all do. Recently I had to unclog my tenant's tub and decided to put together a video showing you how to do it. It's rather simple and will totally save you $79 to $100 in the process. All you need are a screwdriver and needle nose pliers. And if for some reason this doesn't do the trick you can always ask me for more tips. Check out my step-by-step video by visiting www.homerepairtutor.com/unclog-bathtub-drain.

What's the single most effective strategy you've used to keep your bathtub unclogged? Let me know what's worked and what hasn't -- and please share as many specific details as possible :) Thanks as always for your feedback and wonderful comments!!

My plunger is stuck in the middle. Only half the water goes to the shower. The other half out the faucet and drain is slow. I removed the cover plate and can not pull the chain. it is stuck and rusty and I don't want it to break even though it does not work. Only way to keep water in tub is with a rubber stopper. What can I do?

I use a rubber stopper. All my hair is caught on the cross bars in the drain. I get that out with a surgical instrument similar to a scissors, ɓut with a tweezer tip. Works like a charm!

I use Pequa. I purchase it at Home Depot or Lowes. Works wonders. Just pour in drains, wait a short time and turn water on after. Everyone I have told can't believe how great this product works. One of my friends was ready to call a plumber after I told him about it and he purchased it he couldn't believe it worked. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
