We have one of those too; Kohler Spring Green #255. Can't afford to knock it out and put in new, removing a bathtub breaks up the wall above it and ours had perfectly good white tile, and the green toilet and sink were fine, so decided I had to live with it. Painted our walls Sterling Gray, ceiling white, hung up black, white and dark eggplant-purple towels and 'stainless steel' towel racks and accessories. Dark Gray tile floor. Ended up very elegant looking, believe it or not. My kids wanted to keep it because all theirs friends "only have white bathtubs." haha the 70's color fixtures are coming back in style. My decorating motto is: "If you can't change something, pretend you love it."

most DIY paint jobs do not work as well as those from an outfit like Miracle method. I have used them for a few projects and the work is great. http://miraclemethod54.reachlocal.net/bathtub-refinishing-boulder.php

Yes, I had it done, and did NOT do it myself. Fumes are very potent, a mask has to be worn as well as protective clothing. There are companies out there that do it very reasonably. :-)

We had both our tubs resurfaced with Miracle Method. Replacing it was not an option, too expensive. I have never been more satisfied. It has been over two years and it is just as shiny and clean as the day it was done. We are in Austin, Tx and I couldn't recommend this company more. The one bathtub we also had the tile walls resurfaced in a dark brown. As you can tell, I love it! I believe we got a 15 year warranty. If it does need it again. The only thing I use to clean it is 409 cleaner.
