Decorating narrow steps

We have set of 2 narrow (approx. 4.5 ft) steps with railing to front door. Always have a hard time to find a way to decorate it. thanks,

    Sharon do you have a photo you could share? Knowing the size and "railing" really isn't much information. Seeing the setting is always easier for others to come up with ideas for you.

For painting the concrete, all you need is the proper paint and paint brush. You'll have to ask what type of adhesive you need to attach the slate onto the risers. You'll also need mortar. I wish I could help you more, but this is something I have never done before.

    Sharon, I stenciled the front of my steps (the back in between steps). The steps are green and I used an ivy print stencil and white paint. Also, a seasonal rail swag is pretty...pine w/ red ribbon and ornaments for Christmas...silk fall leaves with acorns and small pumpkins for Fall, etc. I think one on each outside would look nice.
