I have a lot of white ceramic tile from my living room all the way to my kitchen. I was wondering if I was to buy laminate plank flooring could I just put right over the tile?

yes as long as the tile is in good shape, meaning no grout lines coming up and all is stable, and don't forget to put a good thermal under layment down! but i would use a 3/8 wood flooring.

You can use either laminate flooring or the new engineered wood floors that "float". I would strongly suggest the engineered wood......nothing like the real goods.

I agree with @Positive Solutions Inc. , you can add laminate over the tiles but it is best to insulate it first. Laminate will add a little protection from the cold but with proper insulation, you will be in much better control of the room temperature.
