Ever Wonder Why You Can't Find Any Old Vintage Watering Cans?

Garden Tour! Meet Debbie McMurry
“My love of gardening started while visiting my grandmother who had many gardens and chickens. I thought she had the most perfect life. She taught me all she could and I have many of her vintage garden books too,” says Debbie McMurry, who lives and gardens in Kansas. See all of her garden tour here...

My local Ace Hardware store has galvanized steel watering cans (brand new) like those shown in the photo. I've also seen them in some high end foofoo garden stores. The price tags, however, are in the $60-70 range. So, you know what? A cheapo plastic watering can does the exact same job and performs it exactly the same as a $60 watering can. It may not be vintage, charming and ever-lasting (where are all those ever-lasting metal cans anyway) but plants don't care and I won't either. But I wouldn't turn one down if it was gifted to me.

Adorable Debbie. I'm lucky enough to have a few vintage cans that i used to be able to find easily and for little $. Certainly not true now. I also have old dairy things like milk bottles, carriers & the big milk cans (my dad worked for a dairy, and then I collected things from flea markets).
