Like Clip

The entry to my basement is a brick surround with brick stairs, it floods quite badly.

There was a pump installed but its routed to in front of the door so the water just flows back in. What would be the best solution to prevent flood? The picture is of the where the water is pumped out of the basement, the area is about four feet below ground level.

    I don't think any pump can move that much water. Drainage around your house must be bad. Grade away from the house, install gutter downspout extensions and french drains. This might be a problem for a professional.
