I have a doozie of a makeover for youtoday. Let me tell you when I say FAIRY TALE, I mean as in wicked step sisters and humpty dumpty.I didn't know if I was gonna be able to work my fairy Godmother magic on this one or not.I honestly had thoughts of smashing it to bits and throwing her in the burn pile...I mean..ME of all people...almost didn't WANT to deal with this.. :)
But I was determined to get it done! So I worked my butt off getting her back into shape. Head on over to the blog to see the full details of what rough shape she was in, and the transformation that even Cinderella would be proud of.

the finished set. I had my doubts that She would turn out, but I am happy to say I LOVE how she turned out.
you can see WHY I wasn't sure if I could make this work..This had originally been a 6 chair set, but I had to use 2 of the worst chairs to rebuild the other 4 chairs.
the table was bettter than the chairs, but still needed work. I had to rebuild a leg and give the top a good sanding to even out the finish.
once the chairs were rebuilt I had to BELT SAND a name that had been carved into one of the chairs. This is why I called the chairs the "wicked step sisters" :)
can you even believe this is the same chair! the chairs were painted with CeCe Caldwells Omaha Ochre and the base of the table too.
The table was painted with a combination of CeCe Caldwells vermont slate and Virginia chestnut and then waxed and buffed and distressed to reveal some of the wood beneath.
I told you it was a fairy tale..:)
