I have this pretty pink flower growing at the top of what sort of looks and feels like asparagus fern, but my others flow down, this one is standing up.

That is Cosmos, Jeanne. For our zone 5 area it is a self seeding annual. Quite lovely and easy to grow.

It's a cosmos. If you'd like to grow them to look like whimsical flowering evergreens, plant the seeds into some Miracle Gro Garden Soil, and a cinder block. Water with about a cup of water a couple of times a day. Last year I grew two monster Cosmos with stalks that were thicker than 2 inches.

My favorite - cosmos. Because of their reseeding habit, you never have to replant them. Check out the sides of highways with beautification projects using wildflowers...they can be seen for miles on the NY expressway.

Cosmos. I have several shades of pinks, and also white cosmos. I love them for their tall height. The butterflies like them too. Mine are still blooming like crazy in the garden.

Cosmos. They grow on my yard and Inever planted them. The seeds must travel from yard to yard but they are very pretty!

I've yet to have failure using Miracle Gro Garden Soil. If you are space challenged, Cosmos can be grown in containers. In one of my planting ares, I removed the sod, layed down about an inch of the soil, planted the seeds, covered with a little soil, watered them in, and Mother Nature did the rest for the most part. Treat Cosmos like weeds, they are THRIVERS AND SURVIVORS! LOL Have a good one, and GOOD LUCK!

cosmos, my grandma always grew them and I have some that I started in a wheelbarrow from seed, then got sick and they continued to grow about four feet so I left them.

Cosmos are great you can clip the flowers save the seeds and replant in the spring...easy to grow full sun and come in white, pink, yellowish-orange and a burgundy. At least those are the colors I have.
