Oxy Clean, Febreze, and vinegar used through a carpet shampooer. It will smell like vinegar for a couple hours, then the Febreze takes over. The other thing I use is Era laundry soap, vinegar, and hot water. Either of these will take out the stain and leave a clean smell.

Stink Free products are great. You can find them at PetSmart or PetCo. Also, my Bissell SpotBot Pet portable carpet cleaner is wonderful.

You need to kill the urine enzymes (I think that is what they are) as even if it smells clean to you, the puppy will still smell it and dogs tend to pee where they have previously peed. We ordered Urine Free online which is an all in one odour and stain remover. It is an Australian product. It can be used on upholstery, carpet, timber, concrete, and ceramic tiles. When we first got our rescue dog she peed on our sea grass rug and it stained. We bought this product to remove the stain and the smell. She has not peed there again since. I attach a link but I am sure there are similar products where you are. www.urinefree.com.au

I have a Euro steam machine and it works beautifully. It kills all the germs, smell everything. There is nothing worse then cat and it worked beautiful on mine. I use it to clean my living room furniture, bed in between changes to kill dust mites and use it on the dogs bed. Not to mention tiles and grout.

Vinegar, vinegar, vinegar! I have a 3-year-old chihuahua who still goes to the bathroom in the living room every night. If he weren't so cute, I'd get rid of him!
