Painted Plywood Floors.

I decided to paint the subfloor at our bay house when the budget disappeared. The color is called sea spray. Next time I'm getting latex porch and floor paint as oil base smell for a few months.

How is your painted floor holding up? I'm planning to do plywood planks and paint them with latex porch and floor paint. Really interested in the long-run outcome of these floors. Thanks. Your floor look great!

i am planing to do this for my son ,carpet is pulled up and they have smooth sub floors my question is what kind of sealer you used to clear coat it ,and is it safe to paint directly on sub floor? I just don't want to ruin the subfloor .baby is coming in less than 3 weeks!:)

Looks absolutely beautiful! I am wondering if this might work on plywood used outdoors for a patio. We are wanting to make a removable patio on rental property. Would the plywood need to be sealed before painting for this type application? Thanks.

I would love to try this. Bought a small home that was originally an office. Need to pull up corporate type carpet and paint to stand up to 2 dogs and a cat. This is a great idea!

  • painting over carpet pad glue. I have finished painting 1/2 of my bedroom and waiting a week or so to move everything on it to finish other 1/2.

After removing the carpet and pad I had to scrape up the remaining tacky glue and bits of padding. This glue was just put down in a squiggly line pattern years ago and was still tacky.

I had been stalling to get started because of the glue issue. I researched online and tried several suggestions and I ended up using Goo Gone Pro and it has worked better than anything else. Still kinda of time consuming but I wanted to post because I couldn't find much information online (lots of info on the dried up glue though) so I hope this may help someone else. Oh, and I used Glidden Floor & Porch paint which seems to be good coverage.
