Painted Upholstered Chair

I picked up this sturdy yellow chair at a garage sale. My daughter mentioned that she needed a chair but thought this had "Old Lady" written all over it. So I upholstered the seat and made a pillow but was not up for reupholstering all those tufts. So I painted it. Now it looks great, feels like leather and doesn't crack when you sit on it. I sanded between each coat and that keeps it soft.

Please purchased a second hand settee with over a hundred buttons, nicely stuffed but fabric is dark green floral 80s, was going to recover but love the idea of just painting! but how with what?
