Painting trailer walls

My trailer walls are not the old fashioned walls with paper on them. They are covered with a lightly texturized vinyl covering. If I take off the cover strips at every 4ft seam, I am left with mudding the cracks. I am afraid that if I do that, the seams will have a smooth finish and the rest of the panels will have a textured one that will not look seamless. HELP!

Try covering them with a decorative strip of wood if you plan on painting

don't know why you can't just fill them with spackle ~ that's what my husband proposed as a solution when he was talking about wallpapering the bathroom. those spots WOULD be smooth ~ but we're talking about narrow strips ~~

My problem is that the vinyl is textured. There is no way that I know of to replicate the texture.

You can mud the seams and use a stiff paint brush and pounce the texture in similar to pouncing paint on a stencil. Then you can prime and paint.

If you can provide a photo. What I have done is use some air dry clay. Roll out a flat slab, spray it with cooking spray, press it on the texture, let it dry, then peel it off. Then I would have an imprint of the texture.
