Giving My Old Lounge Suite a 2nd Chance

We've had this lounge suite for 24yrs, and last had it covered before our daughter was born 19years ago. Time for an update.................
After re-writing my beautiful blue bookshelf the lounge suite looked really dreary. So I decided to reupolstering the suite myself. Oh gosh. Not having done this before I was full of enthusiasm went looking for material and decided on 2 patterns in a lighter material (considering the kids are no longer little). Love the material
I used the old covers as a pattern, and it was easier than I had thought. I used the birds at the bottom of the suite and the geometric shape for the Cushions. I had spare material which matched the colors and make covers for the scatter Cushions aswell.
I overplayed with handkerchiefs and dollies. I've had them packed away for ages, and finally could use them.
I love the end result.......
Suggested materials:
  • Fabric, stapler, glue gun, sewing machine and plenty enthusiasm   (Had the lounge suite for years and found the lovely fabric St the local fabric warehouse.)

It really has lightened up our lounge area. But I would never have tried this when the kids were younger.
