Cait from Little City Farmhouse used Vintage Cupcake, Vanilla Frosting, and Tough Coat to give this dollhouse new life!
Hello painters!

My favourite pieces to work on in the shop (aside from dressers!) are children’s pieces. When a good customer of mine asked me to paint this dollhouse turned bookshelf for her daughter’s room, I was happy to do it! She wanted pink and something fun, so that’s what we did!
It was a fairly simple paint job, with big results. The dollhouse was a dingy white, with pen and marker all over it, but a vintage piece in good structural condition. I painted the outside and trim in Vintage Cupcake and the interior with Vanilla Frosting. I did two coats of each colour.

Children’s pieces tend to get a little more wear than other pieces, so I gave the entire piece (including the papered back) two coats of Tough Coat.
This little bookshelf is too sweet! It was a great way to repurpose a piece that was once a toy into something useful for a little girl’s room! It’s always amazing what a little paint can do!
