Picture Cabinet With Typography

The Shabby Nest
by The Shabby Nest
I found an old cabinet with great details. I first painted it a soft gray then glazed it with a metallic glaze. I knew I wanted to add a picture to one of the doors. There are several ways to transfer pics to things if you Google or look on Pinterest. The method I chose was to blow an image up on a website called www.blockposters.com you can upload any image and it will blow it up to any size you want that you can print out. I then had to piece the image together. I decoupaged the image to the door. I sanded the edges where I had to piece it together after the first coat. It made it look less pieced together. I put three coats of modge podge and then put a coat of water based poly over the whole thing.
On the other door I took and blew up the love definition and transferred it to it with graphite paper. I filled the letters in with a paint pen. I love the way it turned out!
The pic that I had chose is actually my grandparents on their wedding day. Makes it all the more special.
