Start with a spray of white vinegar and water .Completely wash the cabinets down with that. Once the grease starts to congeal, take a scraper and wipe off with paper towel. Then there is a product called cabinet magic available at HomeDepot in the cleaning aisle which will also clean and polish up the cabinets.

My grandmother swore by Murphy's Oil soap for her wood floors, stairs, and cabinets and I do too!

That's exactly what I do, William! I love Bona but love Murphy's too and you are exactly right about it being concentrated, so mixing with the right amount of water is important.

I suggest using Goo Gone. A friend of mine has white cabinets and the ones above her stove had grease buildup that she couldn't remove with most of the suggested remedies. I took my spray bottle of Goo Gone over to her house, sprayed one cabinet door at a time and had a bucket of hot water and old rags on hand. The goo gone did and excellent job of getting the great buildup off without scraping. I wiped the doors down with hot water and dried with a terry cloth rag.

I agree that the key here is 'hot water'. I would use a liquid grease cutting dish soap in very hot water, let sit, rinse with very hot water, wiping down with durable cloths before buying these other expensive products.
