How can I distress furniture?

I want the distressed look by painting my end tables.

    I could send my kids over with a bucket of art supplies and they'll distress anything you want. Till then there is numerous articles and institutions on the web. Just dive in. You can't go too wrong. Choosing colors to compliment your decor. If you aren't happy with the first try--start over. You are the artist and you can't go wrong.     After you have painted them get some sandpaper and sand where you want it to look distressed.

    You will want to use a paint that is meant for distressing. You can purchase a pre made chalk/mineral style paint or make your own. There are several tutorials on here to do both. Search "DIY chalk paint"

    Flogging with a chain works nicely. After painting or staining , Americana Decor Creme wax applied to the directions on the Creme wax bottle you can antique it with this awesome wax!

    You paint the tables whatever color you chose then use medium grit sandpaper and sand along the edges in random spots.
