I'm finishing my basement and would like to hear pros and cons on drywall versus suspended ceilings.

Cost, aesthetics, ease of access to plumbing/electrical are the obvious one. Anything more I should consider?

The drywall ceiling would match the rest of your house, probably, and be beneficial if ceiling height was an issue. Otherwise, I would go with the suspended ceiling. One more consideration would be the sound deadening provided by a drop ceiling.

You listed the main issues for you to consider in living there. One more consideration might be resale- a dropped ceiling does not have the same "value" as a drywall ceiling. Case-in-point, you will rarely if ever see one on the the "show of homes". I would run extra wiring and coil up in the ceiling with a map and photo of each location before closing it up. As long as code will allow (which I cannot see why not), you may get the best of both worlds. Planning and design will be critical. Good luck
