Salvaged Door Into a Cabinet

Blue Roof Cabin

I found this amazing old built in corner cabinet door and knew immediately I had to turn it back into a cabinet. I built a basic cabinet out of birch plywood and gave it a new look with paint. For more details on the paint finish and process visit the blog post.
I love projects that involve bringing new life back to castoff items.
I started with this reclaimed cabinet door front that was loaded with character.
I built a basic cabinet using birch plywood that I had cut to width at the lumber yard.
Once I attached the front I added basic trim to the sides to create some interest but not compete with the door front.
I chose Milk Paint for my finish and did not use bonding agent to create a chippy look.
To finish it off I lined the inside with vintage sheet music.

Love this I think I'm going to try to do something close as this, I'm thinking a wooden screendoor you can see from top to bottom for my husbands Derby glasses.
