I HAVE seen this plant.  I am a plant lover.  In my house I take care and tend to at least 35.  They are MY passion.  I looked on the net, but I must know what part of the country you're from.........East or West coast....some kind of info..........then, maybe I can help...........sorry!

I bought a Paw Paw potted tree from a local nursery a few years back and one of these was growing in the pot with it. I asked the owner what it was and all he said was I don't know but you got it for free.  It survived two NY winters so I don't think it's a tropical or tender perennial. It has since died.

Yes, believe it or not I did. I got two Paw Paws this year right on schedule. (the tree is five years old). I planted a mate to it three years ago and even though I never saw any flowers on it, it somehow pollinated the first tree. There are no other Paw Paw trees near me.  You don't need a male and a female. You need a tree from a different genetic strain. Trees cloned from or planted from seeds from the same 'mother' tree will not pollinate each other. The Paw Paws were sweet and very tasty.
