  • Scrape up the bulk of the dog poop. Then wipe any excess poop off with damp paper towels being careful not to spread it further. Next, spray the stain with a laundry stain remover. Use a bucket of water and cloth and scrub the stain.Do it till the stain is off.Using paper towels to absorb the moisture. You could also use vinegar and water in 1:1 , and pour it over the stain.Dry with paper towels. You also can sprinkle the area with a handful of baking soda.Work it into the carpet and let it dry out overnight. You can later vacuum the baking soda.

I have a a yorkie and I found this miracle solution on line its great for urine as well spray and walk away no scrub for the pee as for the poo use a small brush and do not go outside the area that is stained. Okay here is the miracle solution 1 part mouthwash for the germ fighting 1 part hydro peroxcide 2 tbs dawn dish soap...I have a cream colored almost white carpet so I do more peroxcide. If you have colored carpet add 2 parts water. Test a spot on your carpet. This stuff works wonders takes the stain and smell completely away and there is no scrubbing, for faster dry time I sprinkle baking soda on top let dry and vacuum. Hope that helps

My neighbor had 2 Dobermans & a pale beige rug. He pretreated the entire rug with spray from Home Depot and then used their Dry Chem formula. I don't remember the exact name but just ask a clerk. They may sell similar products at Lowes. All you need to do is use the spray that they sell along w/the sand-like granules. Scrub it into the rug and let it sit. Then vacuum up and the rug will be clean. They sell beginner kits that will include the scrubber that you can attach to a broom pole that you may already have at your home. My neighbor's rug amazingly looked like new after using these products!

I have a Bissell "Green Machine" (less than $100.00) that I use to clean up spills and messes on carpet and rugs. It's also good for cleaning furniture as well as the seats and floors of our vehicles. I love "Nature's Miracle" spray (available at Petsmart and Walmart.) It will neutralize and get rid of the odor of urine, feces, and vomit. I spray it on, let it sit for a few minutes and then clean with the little Green Machine.

@Janet Smith Do you mean the Bissell "Green Machine" that spot cleans one area by itself for 10 - 15 minutes or so? If so, this is what we use and you are absolutely correct! It works great. (I assume the same, even if you are using one that does not work by itself.) We use the solution for pet stains that comes with this product, but other ideas are always a plus! Thank you to all for your ideas and solutions!!! (I found it on sale at Target for about $80 about a year and a half ago.)
