Bathroom paint color

I want to paint our bathroom a "pale turquois" but I have looked at so many paint sample/cards that my eyes are blurry. I don't want it too baby blue and I don't want it to look pale green. Although both of those colors are beautiful, I want a light turquois that would be fitting for a nice beach theme. Any ideas?

Look for something in the color you like and take that in the room to see how it looks. Look around for the color you like, inspirations can come from anywhere, a piece of clothing, a magazine page, a basket, even a dishwashing liquid color lol. When you find the color that you like take the item to the paint store and have them make a sample (Lowes has the best sample sizes for the price) Paint some one the wall and live with it a few days. If you end up wanting it lighter or darker take the sample back and they can adjust the color. They will write the formula down so you can get a larger quantity for your project.

@Becky Murphy you should see my living room with 12 x 12 inch places with sample paint colors! They are all in the gold/khaki family but all 6 are a little different. Still haven't made my mind up. Most people don't even question stuff like that in my house because they know I'm always painting something. I save the little sample pots I don't like for the walls to make into chalk paint and then paint something else.

If you have a swatch of the colour, you can always take it to have it matched. Get a quart sized amount and as Mary has suggested start painting in various areas on the wall. Our entire house looked like a badly done patchwork quilt of colours for about a week. I wanted to see how the lighting changed it, before committing.

Go to Lowe's. They sell sample sizes for under $4.00. You can have them mix up a couple of colors -- then you can test them out on your wall. Cheaper than buying gallons or quarts of paint you might not like. And buy the Valspar signature -- it's the best paint you can get!

I used Valspar's La Fonda Mirage in my bathroom. It is a beautiful pale turquoise. I purchased it at Lowes. Hope this helps.

If you can find Navajo turquoise, it's a lovely colour, can't remember who makes or made it

Instead of looking for 'turquoise', look for 'duck egg'. I think you'll find it's closer to the shade you want - i,.e. more green than blue.
